Yes, I do like receiving books from other authors!
If someone wants to send me their finished book, I won’t reject it! I’m always looking for other authors to read. Just a quick FYI, I prefer to read horror, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, thrillers, and comics. I DO NOT read romance or fanfics, so just be aware that if you send me romance or fanfic, I’ll never read it or review it on my Goodreads profile.
I absolutely DO NOT accept unfinished manuscripts! And, trust me on this, I am not the only author who has this policy. Every author has this (or should have) policy. Never send your unfinished manuscripts to an author! Remember, I am not an editor, nor am I a publishing house. I have millions of ideas for books, but with that being said, I don’t want to read someone’s unfinished work, and it might accidentally influence my own writing. Then, I publish the book, and you recognize elements of your work in my work. Then, you want to sue me for plagiarism! I refuse to allow anything like this to happen. I am very proud of the ideas I have for my work, and I refuse to “steal” anyone else’s ideas.
One more thing, I prefer ebooks. I mostly use my Kindle for reading. After reading big textbooks all day for my accounting classes, I like to end the day by reading on my Kindle. I don’t have a PO Box, nor do I have the time or money to keep up with one. And I am certainly not going to give out my address, so that is why I prefer ebooks. It can be in any form; you can even send it as a PDF if it is easier for you. You don’t have to do anything fancy. If I like your book, I will certainly buy the paperback or hardcover, so that you’ll get a sale. Or, if you don’t have it as an ebook and only as a physical book, still send me the link and I’ll check it out to see if I want to buy it.
I think I’m rather approachable to my fellow authors. I would be more than happy to send one of my books to you, if you so desire. Take a look at my Books page and let me know what you’re interested in! If it hasn’t been published yet, I’ll make sure you get a copy as soon as it is.
